As specified in the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), India has 29.6 million orphaned and abandoned children. All too often, for many reasons, millions of children are deserted every year by their guardians. They are packaged in plastic bags and installed in waste dumps or the vicinity of mosques, hospitals, and orphanages. In general, often neglected newborn children are discarded because they are women as a male child, who carries the legacy of the family forward.
The mother herself is an infant or a survivor of rape, even whether the parents are incredibly poor and do not have the necessary means of raising the child.
Also, their families are not approved for children born with physical or emotional disorders or disorders. Sadly the phénomene of child-abandoning has risen dramatically since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic in India.
Damini was six months old when her parents fled from the city of Ahmedabad leaving her in a precarious condition in a civil hospital. Her parents admitted their sick child to the hospital just days before, as regular workers of the neighborhood. They were ordered by doctors to examine the Covid-19. The young parents reportedly fled out of fear and left their baby in their village Rajasthan. As recorded in The Economic Times, the poor child did not survive.
Some, like Damini, have been abandoned because of the fear of coronavirus and their loss of lives and hardship by parents or relatives. A significant number of children from deprived areas of society have recovered from the pandemic. This includes child laborers, abandoned infants, CCIs, orphanages as well as street children. Many of these young children are malnourished and are also particularly vulnerable to the infection.
In the event of a pandemic, the number of children abandoned rose, but after the declaration in March, the adoption operations were interrupted. Many children in care homes in India wait for their homes because their parents couldn’t come to the city or the country to get them. In turn, the bulk of childcare homes operate to their maximum potential and lack funding.
With your support, we can provide proper nutrition and healthcare facilities to these abandoned children. Your donations will be the greatest gift to our community right now. Any contribution to our fundraiser, no matter how small, will bring hope to these young lives. Hold their hands today so that they can have a bright and fulfilling future tomorrow.
